  • Group insurance is not available to companies with five or fewer employees or that are not incorporated
  • 68% of Canadians decide not to consult a physician because the process can involve long waiting times
  • 4.5 million Canadians don’t have a family physician
  • 40,000 Canadians wait in emergency rooms between 4 and 24 hours simply to refill their prescriptions
  • 500,000 Canadiens miss work every week due to mental health issues

  • Lower absenteeism for employers (Canadians miss an average of 9.3 days of work each year)
  • Turnkey service, tools and documents for employees

What will be included in the telemedicine service?

General medical advice

As a member, you can use the telemedicine service for questions related to health from anywhere in Canada whenever you need to.

Prescriptions and refills

Get new prescriptions and refills. Following the consultation by text or video, nurse-practitioners or physicians send the prescription required directly to your pharmacy.

Referrals to specialists

For healthcare that cannot be provided virtually or requires the intervention of a specialist, clinicians can refer you to cardiologists, neurologists, urologists, and more.

Requests for lab tests and medical imaging

Requests for lab tests (blood and urine samples) are sent by email to patients so they can go to a laboratory or imaging centre.

Medical diagnoses

Excellent news: 80% to 85% of telemedicine medical consultations are resolved online, directly in the TELUS Health Virtual Care application, without in-person follow-up being necessary.

Mental health

All our clinicians have training in mental health support services, including for anxiety and depression. See the section on mental health for more details on the full range of our services.
