To complement traditional financing sources and stimulate entrepreneurship in Québec, the Ministère de l’Économie, et de l’Innovation is collaborating with Entreprendre ici to offer this year 25 grants, with a maximum value of $25,000 each to ethnocultural diversity entrepreneurs who are planning to create or develop a business, all around Québec. Recipients will also receive mentoring as needed.

The candidacy period for the 2019 edition

The nomination period ran from September 1 to 18, 2019. Check back soon for all the details regarding the 2020 edition.

 Eligibility criteria’s

  • Being 18 years of age or over

  • Being a Canadian citizen or permanent resident 

  • Having your head office in Quebec (or reside in Quebec if you are in the pre-startup phase)

  • 50% or more of the shares/ownership must be held by individuals belonging to ethnocultural diversity.

  • Before awarding the grants, register the project at Registaire des entreprises du Québec.

  • Submit updated documents if reapplying for the grant.

 Excluded projects

  • Sexual, religious or political projects

  • Projects related to illicit or recreational drugs

  • Projects of bars or nightclubs

Selection process

Applications written in French only are filed online by completing the form. This form, together with an executive summary of no more than three pages, financial statements or financial projections will be the only documents considered during the evaluation. Proof of citizenship or permanent residence and proof of NEQ (for registered companies) will complete the application.
