Honorific grants – (call for applications)

To complement traditional financing sources and stimulate entrepreneurship in Québec, the Ministère de l’Économie, et de l’Innovation is collaborating with Entreprendre ici to offer this year 24 grants, with a maximum value of $25,000 each.

These grants are intended for ethnocultural diversity entrepreneurs who are planning to create or develop a business, anywhere in Québec province.

The application period for the 2026 edition is now open.

The application period runs from April 1st to May 15 at 12:00 pm.

This competition is only in French, meaning the application form, supporting documents, and submitted documents must all be in French. Also, if selected to be a finalist, the contestant or one of her/his partners will be invited to pitch their project in French language only.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

FOR THE APPLICANT:

  • Be of immigrant and/or ethnocultural diversity background
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident or in possession of a Québec Selection Certificate (CSQ)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Hold alone at least 51% of the company's shares, or hold with partners who also meet the eligibility criteria, at least 51% of the company's shares.
  • Submit up-to-date documents if re-applying for the Grant

FOR THE COMPANY:

  • Be registered in the Québec Enterprise Register no later than April 15, 2026
  • Have its head office in Québec
  • Not be registered in the Register of Ineligible Enterprises for Public Contracts (RENA).
  • For takeover projects, provide proof of transaction (deed of sale, Repreneuriat Quebec certificate, etc.)

INELIGIBLE PROJECTS

  • Projects of a sexual, religious or political nature
  • Projects related to illicit or recreational drugs
  • Bar or discotheque projects
  • Multiple applications within the same company. Only one application per Quebec business number per year is eligible.
  • Winners of a business project that has won a previous edition of the Entreprendre ici Honorary Grants in support of ethnocultural diversity entrepreneurs.

SELECTION PROCESS

APPLICATION PERIOD

Submissions are accepted from April 1st to May 15, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.

TRIAGE AND EVALUATION

From May 18 to July 30, 2026.

FINALISTS UNVEILED

The 50 finalists for the Honorary grants will be announced on August 4, 2026.

PITCH TO AN INDEPENDENT JURY

The finalists will present their projects on August 20, 2026.

AWARD CEREMONY

The ceremony will take place on September 24, 2026.
